Coupon Terms and Abbreviations

Here is a list of commonly used terms and abbreviations on Couponing 101

AC = After Coupon
AC-M = Manufacturer coupons that are found in weekly ads
AR = After Rebate
Blinkie = A red blinking dispenser w/coupon inserts attached to a store shelf (sometimes box isn't blinking)
BOGO, B1G1, B1G1F, B1G1 Free = Buy one get one Free
BIG* = Buy one product, get* something else
CAT, CATALINA = Coupons which print at the register after your purchase is made
LMT = The limit is the number of products that may be purchased at the sale price
CPN = Coupon
CRT = Cash Register Tape (coupons that are printed in store)
DND = Do Not Double
DOUBLE COUPON = A coupon that can be doubled
ECB = CVS Pharmacy's Extra Care Buck earned for purchases (print on receipt)
FAR = Free after Rebate
FILLER = A(n) item(s) you need to buy to fill a 'TOTAL AMOUNT' requirement to use a coupon or a percentage off
Free Item Coupon = A coupon that allows you to get the product completely for Free
FS = Free Shipping
GC = Gift Card/Certificate
GM = General Mills
IP, IPC, IPQ = Internet Printable Coupon
ISC, ISC-M = In store or manufacturer coupons that are only found in the store
IVC = Walgreen’s Instant Value Coupon ( Found in the monthy EasySaver Catalog )
Lmt = The limit of product that may be purchased at the sale price
MFG, MFR = Manufacturer's Coupon
MIR =  Mail-In Refund or Rebate
NC = Newspaper coupons found in booklets in your Sunday paper
N/A = Not Applicable
NED = No expiration date
OAS = A coupon that is good on one purchase, any size
OOP = Out of pocket, in reference to how much “real money” you will pay at the register
OOS = Out of stock
OSI = On a single item
OYNO, OYNSO = On your next order, On your next shopping order
PEELIE = Coupon that you peel off the package
P&G = Proctor & Gamble coupon booklet (insert) found in the Sunday Newspaper
POP = Proof of Purchase
PP = Purchase Price
Printables = Coupon you can print off the Internet
PSA = Prices Starting At
Q = Coupon
RP = Red Plum coupon booklet (insert) found in the Sunday Newspaper
RR = Walgreen's Registered Rewards (prints with receipt)
SCR = Single Check Rebate (Rite Aid)
SF = Store Form
SS = Smart Source coupon booklet (insert) found in the Sunday Newspaper
STACKING = Using a store specific coupon with a manufacturer coupon (most stores allow this)
T/L = Trade List, things you have for trade
TEAR PAD = A pad of rebate forms attached to the store shelf
TMF =Try Me Free (usually a rebate offer)
Triple Coupon = a coupon that a store triples in value
UPC = Universal Product Code or Bar Code
VV = Video Value
w/ = With
WSL = While Supplies Last
WYB = When You Buy
YMMV = Your Mileage May Vary (success of the attempt may vary at your store)
